Colorado has landed their 25th commitment from the Class of 2017 in Jared Poplawski out of Scottsdale, Arizona committed to Colorado. The 6-foot-4, 220 pound Tight End had been committed to Arizona State since June of 2016 but had a recent change of heart after taking a late official visit to Boulder, Colorado this past weekend.

Poplawski, a Rivals.com three-star recruit, had plenty of big-time offers during the recruiting process, in total he collected 13 D1 offers from schools such as Arizona State, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, and Oregon State among others.

With Poplawski joining the Buffs' Class of 2017 he's the only tight end the Buffs have so far received a commitment from and will be the third scholarship tight end on the roster joining Dylan Keeney who is a junior and Chris Bounds who is a sophomore.

As a Senior at Saguaro High School Poplawski caught for 17 receptions for 250-yards and 4 touchdowns.

Recruiting Momentum

Landing Poplawski is a big flip for Colorado as sources felt that he was likely to stick with Arizona State last week, but that was before his weekend official visit in Boulder.

Grabbing a commitment from a 5.7 three-star recruit that's committed to a rival Pac-12 South school, especially when that prospect was committed to an in-state school, is a huge recruiting win for Colorado.

The Buffs have 25 commitments in the class of 2017 with the big time addition of Poplawski. Landing the 6-foot-4, 220-pounder gives CU great momentum heading into National Signing Day on Wednesday.

Rivals.com's Adam Gorney on Poplawski

"Poplawski mainly plays with his hand down, but he's explosive off the line of scrimmage, is excellent catching balls down the seam, and he can stretch the middle of the field with his speed. The three-star has also shown he has excellent hands and can make tough catches. Don't overlook his blocking abilities, either. In the run game, Poplawski is not afraid to get out and block, which adds another important dimension to his game."
