Buffs to the Big 12: How to watch the CU board of regents’ pivotal Thursday meeting

The final major hurdle that needs clearing for Colorado to rejoin the Big 12 comes Thursday at 3:00 p.m. MT. At this time, the university’s board of regents is scheduled to meet and discuss “athletics operations.” The expectation is that the board will vote on leaving the Pac-12.

Most of these board meetings are private, executive sessions, but this one is being made public. The link to the live stream can be found here. The meeting is scheduled for one hour, so Buffs fans should know CU’s fate sometime before 4 p.m. MT.

The board also convened on Wednesday, although the exact details of that meeting are unknown.

Late Wednesday evening, ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported that the Big 12’s presidents and chancellors unanimously approved Colorado’s acceptance into the conference. Colorado has still yet to formally apply for membership, but that is likely to happen soon after the board of regents meeting.
