Buffalo Bills schedule 2024: The games we know so far

ORCHARD PARK - The No. 1 thing on the line for the Buffalo Bills Sunday night in Miami is obvious: They need to defeat the Dolphins in order to win their fourth straight AFC East division title and earn the favorable No. 2 seed in the AFC playoffs.

However, if they lose to Miami, they will fall to second place in the division - perhaps all the way out of the playoffs - and that will affect who the Bills play in the 2024 season.

Fourteen of the 17 games have been set in stone for quite some time based on the NFL’s schedule formula, but the other three cannot be determined until the NFL standings are finalized when the clock reaches zero late Sunday night at Hard Rock Stadium.

In addition to the home-and-home series the Bills play against the Dolphins, Patriots and Jets, they are also playing all four teams in the AFC South and NFC West next season. The three games yet to be decided are those against the teams from the AFC West and and AFC North who finish in the same place in their respective division as the Bills do in the AFC East.

And with the 17-game schedule, there is one extra game against an NFC team, also matched up by divisional finish and next year, that team will be from the NFC North.

Buffalo Bills schedule 2024: What we know so far

At home the Bills will play:

• Miami Dolphins

• New England Patriots

• New York Jets

• Jacksonville Jaguars

• Tennessee Titans

• Arizona Cardinals

• San Francisco 49ers

If the Bills win the AFC East, the eighth game will be against the Chiefs, but if they lose they will meet the second-place AFC West team which will either be the Broncos or Raiders.

On the road, the Bills have nine games because 2024 is a year when NFC teams get to play nine at home. Here are the games locked in:

• Miami Dolphins

• New England Patriots

• New York Jets

• Houston Texans

• Indianapolis Colts

• Los Angeles Rams

• Seattle Seahawks

If Buffalo wins the division, it will play at the Ravens and at the NFC North winning Lions. If the Bills lose Sunday, they will play at the Browns and at the Packers or Vikings.
