Bucks PG Jennings to receive second 10-day contract

The Milwaukee Bucks will sign point guard Brandon Jennings to a second 10-day contract, according to multiple reports.

Jennings' initial 10-day deal expires Tuesday. He has averaged 6.0 points, 5.5 assists and 2.8 rebounds in four games since rejoining the franchise.

Jennings, 28, spent the first four seasons (2009-13) of his NBA career with Milwaukee when he was one of the club's top players. Now he is attempting to re-ignite his career and is appreciative of his second chance with the Bucks.

"It's meant a lot, it's been great," Jennings told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Monday night. "I had a great game coming back. I was just trying to push the pace and do what the team asks. Overall it's been a great opportunity and I'm happy with it."

Jennings stood out in his first game with the Bucks when he had 16 points, 12 assists and eight rebounds in a victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on March 12.

Earlier this season, Jennings averaged 27.9 points in 13 games for the Shanxi Zhongyu of the Chinese Basketball Association. He later joined the Wisconsin Herd, the G League affiliate of the Bucks, and averaged 21.4 points, 7.6 assists and 4.7 rebounds.

Jennings has career averages of 14.2 points and 5.7 assists in 545 NBA games between the Bucks, Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic, New York Knicks and Washington Wizards.
