Bucks announcer Marques Johnson refers to Pacers Tyrese Haliburton as 'wannabe superstar'

Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton is clearly improving in the eyes of opposing announcers.

Last year, New York Knicks announcer Wally Szczerbiak called Haliburton a "wannabe all-star."

Wednesday night, the Bucks announcers took it up a notch, referring to Haliburton as a "wannabe superstar." In discussing the Bucks' physical play in Wednesday's 140-126 victory, announcer Marques Johnson said with a laugh, "If a forearm shiver catches a too cocky wannabe superstar, so be it."

Johnson played with the Bucks from 1977 to 1984 and made All-NBA on three occasions. In reply to a video of the incident, Johnson said, "Hilarious."

Haliburton was the darling of the NBA's first In-Season Tournament, including a 27-point, 15-assist, 0-turnover game against the Bucks in the Pacers' 128-119 semifinal victory over the Bucks to advance to the title game.

Szczerbiak apologized to Haliburton on a later broadcast.
