Bryce Young exits game vs Arkansas with apparent injury

Bryce Young had torched the Arkansas secondary through a quarter and a half, but the Alabama quarterback wouldn’t play the whole game.

With a 14-0 lead, Young, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, went to the Crimson Tide medical tent nursing his shoulder. Television cameras caught Young demonstrative in frustration as he headed inside.

Arkansas linebacker Drew Sanders had sacked Young on the drive before and the junior quarterback landed on his front side. He didn’t appear to be hurt at the time and returned for Alabama’s next drive, but left after the one that followed when Alabama had to punt.

Young had thrown for 173 yards with a touchdown and an interception to the point of his leaving. He was replaced by Jalen Milroe, who ran for a touchdown on the next drive to give Alabama a 21-0 lead with 8:29 left in the first half.

The extent of Young’s injury was unclear as was his status for returning.
