Brooklyn-Shelton Little League elimination game suspended by rain

The elimination game between District 12 champion Brooklyn and District 3 champion Shelton on Day 2 of the Connecticut Little League State Finals was suspended Thursday night due to inclement weather.

The teams will meet on Friday at 6 p.m. at Unity Park in Trumbull.

The game was tied 0-0 in the top of the third inning. Shelton had a runner on third base with no out when a thunder and lightning rainstorm struck Trumbull.

The winners' bracket matchup between East Lyme and Westport was also stopped and will resume on Friday at 6 p.m.
