Brook Hill vanquishes Houston Village School, 64-0

Oct. 27—HOUSTON — Brook Hill strolled into Village Field in Houston Friday night and proceeded to spank the Vikings from The Village School, 64-0, in a non-district tilt.

The Guard (6-3, 1-1) wasted no time in putting points on the scoreboard. Brook Hill led 37-0 after one period of play and 58-0 at halftime.

Cam Ryle threw for 147 yards and tossed three touchdown passes. He completed 9-of-11 pass attempts.

Jonah McCown also saw duty under center. McCown scored on touchdown runs of 2 and 12 yards, respectively. For the game, McCown picked up 30 yards form scrimmage on four carries. He also completed 2-of-4 pass attempts for 29 yards.

Breckin Westbrook gave a solid performance on both sides of the ball. Offensively he hauled in a 44-yd touchdown pass from Ryle and led the Guard in receiving, with two grabs for 47 yards. Westbrook scooped up a Viking fumble late in the first half and returned it 22 yards for a touchdown. He also made two tackles in the lopsided fray.

Durrett hauled in a 30-yard touchdown catch and scored on a 2-yard run while Tra Whatley chipped in a 31-yard scoring run. He led Brook Hill in rushing with three carries for 41 yards.

Ryder Williams also got into the scoring action for the Guard by reeling in 23-yard touchdown catch.

Leading the Guard defense with five take downs, a tackle for loss and a pass interception was Ben Crutsinger.

Colton Richards also picked off a Viking pass.

The Village School, who plays at the TAPPS Division V level, fell to 3-6,0-1.

Brook Hill will lower the curtain on its regular season next Friday by traveling to McKinney Christian Academy.
