Broncos WR Courtland Sutton ‘done for the year’ after tearing ACL
Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton is “done for the year” after suffering a serious knee injury in Week 2, according to KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis. Sutton tore his ACL, according to multiple reports.
Sutton suffered a shoulder injury in practice before the season started and he sat out the team’s season opener against the Tennessee Titans in Week 1. Sutton was back on the field in Week 2 only to leave with additional injuries.
Sutton left Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and was ruled out with what the team described as knee/cramping problems.
Before leaving the game on Sunday, Sutton was targeted six times and caught three passes for 66 yards, a team high.
Last year, Sutton made the Pro Bowl as an alternate after catching 72 passes for 1,112 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 15.4 yards per reception. In his career, Sutton has caught 117 passes for 1,882 yards and 10 scores.
After a 26-21 loss to the Steelers, the Broncos will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Empower Field at Mile High in Week 3. The Bucs are coming off a 31-17 win over the Carolina Panthers.
