Brian Flores reiterates that he is happy with Tua Tagovailoa at QB

It’s been an interesting week in the world of the Miami Dolphins with the rumors of a potential trade for Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson surrounding the team.

Brian Flores and his team have done a great job, at least publicly, of avoiding distractions and supporting their quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa.

In his media availability on Friday, Flores was asked about the rumors, and he responded by backing up his starter.

“Tua is our quarterback,” Flores said. “We’re happy with our quarterback.”

Obviously, Flores has some say in the moves that happen to the roster, but that ultimately falls on general manager Chris Grier and, in this situation, owner Stephen Ross. So, he may be just trying to deflect and keep supporting Tagovailoa in case a trade doesn’t end up happening, or this could be how he truly feels.

The coach also mentioned that the players have done a good job blocking out things that are happening outside of the building which is necessary with a five-game losing streak on their hands.

Watson could end up being a Dolphin in due time, but Flores is saying the right things about his team and quarterback publicly and likely privately as well.
