Brett Favre ‘would love’ to see Aaron Rodgers on the Bears

After the Green Bay Packers traded up to select quarterback Jordan Love in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the future of Aaron Rodgers in the green and gold is unknown.

Last week Rodgers appeared on the “10 Questions with Kyle Brandt” podcast on The Ringer, where he discussed his future in Green Bay and a thought about being on the Chicago Bears.

Now, former Packers Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre weighs in with his opinion on Rodgers joining the Bears on the “Load Management” podcast on Complex.

“I would love to that (Rodgers on the Bears),” said Favre. “Bears fans would probably be like ‘I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I am so glad Aaron Rodgers is on our team.'”

Realistically and financially, the Packers and Rodgers are tied together for the next two to three years. Rodgers, 36, has no plans of retiring and wants to play into his 40’s, but at some point Love might have to take the reins.

We have seen Favre get revenge on the Packers when he signed with the Minnesota Vikings in 2009 and was having an MVP-caliber season with being one game away from the Super Bowl.

Favre points out if some how the Bears were to get Rodgers in Chicago “he would instantly make you (the Bears) a contender,.” But his contract is up in 2024, with a possible potential opt-out in 2022.

Even though there’s been bad blood between Rodgers and the Bears, there’s no question that the team and the fans would accept him, especially to rub Packers fans the wrong way.
