This Bradley soccer player won a spot on the Guyana national team for the Gold Cup

PEORIA — Bradley men's soccer forward Yohance Douglas will be on the national stage for the 2023 Gold Cup.

The sophomore midfielder/forward earned a place on the Guyana senior national team Tuesday. He will play in a friendly match against Ethiopia at 7 p.m. Wednesday on Segra Field in Leesburg, Va.

Douglas is part of an 18-man roster for the Guyana Football Federation team.

The 5-foot-11, 152-pounder played at Ossining High School in New York, where he earned all-league and all-section honors and helped Ossining to the state semifinals in 2019.

He spent two years at Marist, played briefly twice for Guyana's under-20 national team, and transferred to Bradley.

The Braves open their season on Aug. 10 with a 3 p.m. game against Iowa Western Community College at Shea Stadium.
