Boys Tip-Off: Whitefish, Libby and Browning win Friday

Dec. 10—FRENCHTOWN — Carson Krack scored 24 points, 12 coming in the second quarter, and Whitefish opened its boys basketball season with a convincing 65-35 win over Stevensville Friday at the Frenchtown Tip-Off.

The preseason tournament ran all day Friday and continued Saturday; Browning and Libby also scored wins for the Northwest A on the first day.

Carson Gulick added 13 points for the Bulldogs, eight coming in the first half. Mason Genovese hit three 3-pointers before intermission as well, and Whitefish led 42-15 at the break.

Ryan Beagle scored all of his seven points in the first half, helping the Loggers to a 20-13 lead, and Tyler Anderson scored 17 of his 12 points after halftime to help maintain it.

Carter Curnow scored 25 points and fellow junior added 18 for Dillon, which had just three players score.

Mark Robison hit six 3-pointers and scored 21 points for Columbia Falls, which missed a potential game-winning shot with 1.8 seconds left and fell just short. Jace Hill scored 12 points for the Wildcats, all of them in the first half.

Delbert Blackman hit a 3-pointer and scored five points in a 16-7 third-quarter surge that paved the way to Browning's win.

Blackman was one of four players to reach double figures for Browning, which led 55-41 going into the final eight minutes. Jude Reevis had a team-high 13 points.

Ryan Hutchison poured in 25 for Corvallis.

Eli Thorness and Jack Jensen had 13 points each for Bigfork. Jensen scored seven points in the third quarter as the Vikings forged a 36-36 tie.

Reynolds Johnston scored 24 points for Missoula Loyola, Ethan Stack added 20 and Jack Clevenger added 14 — Clevenger scored all of his points in the second quarter while the Rams built a 50-20 lead.

Anthony Lechtenberg hit three 3-pointers and scored nine points for Polson.

Hamilton 67, Ronan 48

Marlo Tonasket scored 14 points for Ronan, but Landon Magness poured in 31 for Hamilton, which led 37-22 at the half.
