Saturday's results

JACKSONVILLE ROUTT 56, LIBERTY 55, OT: At the Winchester Invitational Tournament, Bryson Mossman converted the game-winning layup as time expired in overtime to vault Jacksonville Routt to the second round.

The Rockets, seeded fourth and the defending tournament champions, draw No. 5 Greenfield/Northwestern on Monday at 7:45 p.m.

Vince Cramsey hit the go-ahead free throw for Liberty with 4.7 seconds left before Mossman delivered the game-winner. Mossman carried the Rockets with 33 points, sinking three 3s and 8 of 14 free throw attempts.

Brady Turner provided seven points while Nolan Turner and Isaac Long each had six.

Cramsey had eight of his team-high 18 points in the overtime period. Tanner Gimm had 14 points.

PETERSBURG PORTA/A-C CENTRAL 50, WHITE HALL NORTH GREENE 42: At the Winchester Invitational Tournament, PORTA eked out the first-round win at the free throw line.

The Bluejays, seeded No. 7, made 18 of 19 free throw attempts, including 16 of 17 in the final period. They trailed 28-23 by the end of the third. They draw No. 2 Winchester West Central in the second round on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.

Griffin McClure went 7 of 8 from the line in the fourth and finished with 13 points. Drew Marr also came through in the final minutes and had 13 points. Brady Kinney drained three 3s in the first period before ending with 11 points.

Luke Farris led No. 15 North Greene with 12 points.

CONCORD TRIOPIA 52, CARLINVILLE 39: At the Winchester Invitational Tournament, Dom Alepra supplied 14 points in the loss for the No. 14-seed Cavaliers.

Triston Thompson added eight and Carlinville drops to the consolation bracket on Wednesday. Austin Strubbe led No. 6 Triopia with 16 points while Evan Bell and KJ Beck had 11 and 10, respectively.

CLINTON 59, ROCHESTER 54: At Clinton, Kai Bruce, Canon Bruce and Henry Buecker each had 10 points, but the Rockets fell to 8-10 overall.

Rochester led 28-25 at halftime until the Maroons surged ahead 45-38 by the end of the third. Brooks Cluver led Clinton with 21 points.

PLEASANT PLAINS 60, LITCHFIELD 40: At the Taylorville Shootout, Cooper Schallenberg mustered 12 of his game-high 27 points in the fourth quarter to clinch the nonconference win.

He made four 3s and 7 of 8 free throw attempts. Liam Hatfield had all of his 16 points in the first half for a 38-20 lead at the break.

Victor McGill led Litchfield with 15 points.

SOUTH COUNTY 43, ANNAWAN 33: At the Taylorville Shootout, South County outscored Annawan 26-16 in the second half to record a nonconference win.

The game was tied at 17-all at halftime. Bishop McDannald and Noah Lyons led South County with 15 points apiece. Lyons had 10 points in the second half and McDannald finished with two 3-pointers.

MAROA-FORSYTH 56, CALVARY 54: At Maroa, the Trojans erased a two-point deficit after three quarters and pulled out a nonconference win.

Playing without leading scorer Luke Blackford, Connor Brown scored a game-high 18 points for Calvary (13-4). Joshua Long had two 3-pointers and netted all 10 of his points in the second half and Mitchell Watts added eight.

Zayn Giles recorded 16 points and Mitch Williams put in 12 second-half points to finish with 14 for Maroa-Forsyth (9-5). Connor Kelly dropped in three 3s and tallied nine in the win.

RIVERTON 65, DEER CREEK-MACKINAW 50: At the Hawk Center, Julian Rice spurred Riverton to a hot start with eight points in the first quarter for an early 20-9 advantage and the Hawks continue to surge at 12-2 overall.

Rice hit two 3s and finished with 23 points. Jaxson Miller was 8 of 14 at the free throw line and had 14 points while Isaac Crumrine and Colton Johnson had 10 and eight pionts, respectively.

Tyce Albritton led Dee-Mack with 16 points.

MONTICELLO 57, NEW BERLIN 26: At the St. Joseph Ogden Shootout, New Berlin was held to 26.5 percent (9-for-34) shooting and fell in a nonconference game.

New Berlin (11-4) scored the first four points of the game until Monticello went on a 13-0 run to end the quarter. Trey Welter had a game-high 19 points on 8 of 11 shooting, including 3-for-5 from 3-point range. Teammate Raiden Colbert added 10 points and two 3s for the Sages (8-8).

Gannon Dodd led New Berlin with seven points.

ILLINI BLUFFS 68, ATHENS 47: At Athens, Hank Alvey overwhelmed the host Warriors with 21 poitns and 15 rebounds while Devon White had 17 points. Illini Bluffs, ranked No. 3 in 1A, improved to 16-3 overall.

BEARDSTOWN 67, BLOOMINGTON CORNERSTONE CHRISTIAN 49: At Bloomington, four different players reached double figures for the Tigers.

Isaac Brockschmidt totaled 15 points and five assists, followed by Elizah Thomas with 14 points and five steals. Christy Domitien and Rylan Alhorn had 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Friday's results

LINCOLN 40, CHATHAM GLENWOOD 36: At Glenwood, Trey Schilling delivered 16 points and the Railsplitters held on for a Central State Eight Conference win.

Schilling shot 4 of 8 from 3-point range and had five rebounds and two assists. Gabe Smith chipped in seven points while Karson Komnick had six points. Drew Hayes contributed five points, five rebounds and three assists.

Lincoln (11-5, 4-1 CS8) struggled to put the game away at the free-throw line in the final minutes and finished 8 of 16 from the line.

Mason Neumann carried Glenwood (13-4, 5-1 CS8) with 15 points while Mason Marshall had 10. Cam Appenzeller added eight.

SOUTHEAST 80, SACRED HEART-GRIFFIN 52: At Jim Belz Gym, Reggie Rice set the tone early with 11 points in the first quarter en route to a dominant Central State Eight Conference win over host SHG.

Rice shot 4 of 6 from 3-point range and ended with a game-high 22 points. Dominick Hobbs had 17 points while Carlos Day also reached double figures with 12 points.

Rakim Higgerson chalked up eight points and nine rebounds while Jaylene Simmons had 10 points and eight rebounds.

The Spartans (3-10, 1-5 CS8) committed just 12 turnovers in the game and led 35-25 at halftime.

Cam Brinkman posted a team-best 11 points for SHG (6-8, 1-3 CS8). Bryce Musgrave added 10 points.

ROCHESTER 54, DECATUR EISENHOWER 51: At Eisenhower, Kai Bruce totaled six 3s and 20 points to help the Rockets eke out a Central State Eight Conference road win.

Bruce drained three treys in the third period for a 39-32 lead. Eli Cox had nine of his 11 points after the break. Canon Bruce and Tanner Beal had nine and eight points, respectively. Rochester improved to 8-9 overall and 2-3 in the league.

Tishawn Clemmons fired up 14 of his game-high 23 points in the final stanza for the Panthers (5-9, 1-4 CS8). Zephon Warren added eight points.

NORMAL UNIVERSITY 57, SPRINGFIELD HIGH 39: At Willard Duey Gym, Miles Kirin spurred a quick start for the Pioneers with eight points in the first half for a 28-15 halftime lead en route to a Central State Eight Conference win.

Kirin led U-High (10-6, 2-2 CS8) with 19 points while Cam Johnson delivered 13 points.

Elijah Wade scored 15 points for SHS (3-9, 0-4).

NOKOMIS 47, RAYMOND LINCOLNWOOD 46: At Nokomis, Reece Lohman hit the go-ahead field goal with six seconds left to end with 21 points in the MSM Conference win.

He went 8 of 10 from the free throw line while also supplying six rebounds and 10 blocks. Mason Stauder had three 3s and 13 points. Kennedy DeWerff had nine points.

NHS (9-8, 3-0 MSM) led just 36-35 by the end of the third period.

Brady Schmedeke and Jonah Elvidge combined for 31 points for the Lancers. Schmedeke had 17 points while Elvidge converted four 3s to come away with 14 points.

LITCHFIELD 79, VANDALIA 63: At Litchfield, Tate Dobrinich helped the Purple Panthers pull away after the break with seven of his 11 points in the third period for a 62-45 cushion in a South Central Conference victory.

Victor McGill had a blazing start with 16 of his game-high 24 points in the first half. Keenan Powell later dished up 12 of his 16 points after intermission for Litchfield, which improved to 12-6 overall and 3-0 in the league. Carson Saathoff provided 10 points while Keenan Logan had eight.

Wade Brannon led Vandalia with 17 points while Tanner Robbins had 10.

STAUNTON 50, PANA 37: At Staunton, Isiah Laux hit five 3s for 15 points to lead the Bulldogs to a South Central Conference win.

Lucas Dillon (11 points) and Zander Machota (six points) had two 3s apiece for Staunton (9-8, 2-1 SCC). Hayden Blackwell led Pana (3-11, 1-2) with 12 points.
