Boys basketball roundup: East Lansing wraps up outright CAAC Blue title

EAST LANSING 57, GRAND LEDGE 36

The Trojans secured the outright CAAC Blue title with their win over Grand Ledge. Cam Hutson had 18 points, nine rebounds and three steals and BJ Windham had 11 points and four steals for East Lansing (19-2, 11-0). KJ Torbert contributed eight points, six rebounds and four steals, Charlie Baker had eight rebounds and Christian Dunn finished with seven rebounds and four steals for the Trojans. Carson Daly hit four 3s and led Grand Ledge with 14 points.

IONIA 53, LANSING CATHOLIC 50

IONIA — Spencer Tooker hit the game-winning shot and free throw with three seconds left to give the Bulldogs a CAAC White home win over Lansing Catholic. Colt Piercefield finished with a team-high 14 points and Tooker and Max Doty each tacked on 10 points for Ionia (9-12, 4-9). Drew Tolfree led all scorers with 19 points and Seth Hahnenberg added 15 points for the Cougars (7-14, 5-8). JV score: Ionia d. Lansing Catholic

DeWITT — Adam Flannery led the Panthers with a team-high 24 points in their CAAC Blue win over Holt (8-13, 3-9). Garrett Grewe finished with eight points and hauled in 10 rebounds and Zach Nevison pulled down eight rebounds for DeWitt (13-7, 5-6). Brandon Mercer II led Holt with 15 points and Carter Bishop finished with 13 points.

WAVERLY 67, EVERETT 58

DELTA TWP. — Deshawnta Malone led the Warriors with a game-high 25 points in their CAAC Blue home win over Everett. Deunte Phifer tallied eight points, 10 rebounds and seven assists, Derek Thomas II and Xavier Pendergrass each scored eight points and Trey Miller added seven rebounds and five rebounds for Waverly (16-5, 8-3). Nizjai Davidson picked up a team-high 16 points, Marrion May scored 14 points and Lajune Lubrin chipped in 11 points for the Vikings (8-10, 2-9). JV score: Waverly d. Everett

PORTLAND 55, CHARLOTTE 43

Evan Gross had 20 points and Kayden Dickerson finished with 17 points to lead the Raiders to a CAAC White win over Charlotte. Dominic Novara added 16 points for Portland. Maliki Garza had 11 points and Ben Buzzard scored 10 points for the Orioles.

SEXTON 70, EATON RAPIDS 48

Da’Quarius Jones had 11 points and Devon Hodges-Smith had 10 points to lead the J-Dubbs to a CAAC White win. Keyshawn Summerville and Jay’veair Garcia added nine points for Sexton.

STOCKBRIDGE 71, FOWLERVILLE 67 (2OT)

STOCKBRIDGE — Joey Ballagh hit a game-tying 3-pointer to force double overtime before the Panthers emerged with the nonleague victory over Fowlerville. Ballagh scored a team-high 26 points, Kegan Collins scored 18 points and Shannon Henderson chipped in 11 points for Stockbridge (15-6). Brendan Ray led all scorers with 30 points, Wyatt Soli picked up 14 points, Griffin Gonzalez finished with nine points and Dillon Wieas added eight points, including the game-tying shot to force overtime for the Gladiators (4-16).

OLIVET 75, LAKEWOOD 51

OLIVET — Bo Lincoln led the Eagles with 19 points, six rebounds, six assists and three steals in their CAAC White victory over Lakewood. Tayven Feldpausch had 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists and Bryce Wine finished with 13 points and five rebounds for Olivet (15-6, 9-4). Logan Faulkner had 18 points and Troy Acker added 15 points for Lakewood.

ALMA 72, BIRCH RUN 47

ALMA — Jacoby Dunlap finished with 21 points while leading the Panthers (12-9, 7-6) to a TVC Red win. Daniel Ash added 10 points for Alma, which jumped out to a 22-7 lead after the opening quarter and never looked back on its way to securing a fourth-place finish in the league standings.

POTTERVILLE 62, LANSING CHRISTIAN 48

POTTERVILLE — Kaleb Batterham led all scorers with 31 points to push the Vikings to a CMAC home win over Lansing Christian. Isaiah Woloszyn picked up 13 points and Reid Jackson tacked on 11 points for Potterville (7-14, 5-12). Ethan Damesworth and David Hall each finished with a team-high 17 points and Brennan Sendow chipped in 11 points for the Pilgrims (2-19, 1-17).

PEWAMO-WESTPHALIA 66, PERRY 39

WESTPHALIA — Grady Eklund finished with 23 points to lead the Pirates to a CMAC home victory over Perry. Kash Pohl notched 10 points, Trent Piggott scored seven points and Mason Smith and Trevor Smith each added on six points for Pewamo-Westphalia (19-2, 15-2). D.J. Jenks picked up a team-high 29 points and Tristan Krupp tacked on eight points for the Ramblers (11-9, 8-9).

PORTLAND ST. PATRICK 72, DANSVILLE 49

PORTLAND — Charlie Thelen tallied a game-high 24 points to lead the Shamrocks to a CMAC home victory over Dansville. Brayden Simon scored 18 points and Jerryd Scheurer finished with 12 points for Portland St. Patrick (11-9, 9-7). Elijah Neal picked up a team-high 12 points for the Aggies (10-11, 9-9).

FOWLER 75, SARANAC 44

FOWLER — Alex Halfmann picked up a team-high 22 points to help guide the Eagles to a CMAC victory over Saranac (5-16, 4-13). Jacob Halfmann finished with 15 points and Aaron Simon chipped in 14 points for Fowler (15-7, 14-4).

WEBBERVILLE 76, BYRON 55

WEBBERVILLE — Austin Johnson finished with 19 points and five assists to lead the Spartans to a home victory over Byron (3-18). Michael Bialke tallied 12 points and Dylan Rhodes tacked on 11 points, five assists and four steals for Webberville (9-11). JV score: Webberville 56, Byron 21

OWOSSO 50, FLUSHING 47 (OT)

FLUSHING — Nate Parsons hit the game-tying free throw with 10 seconds left to force overtime and help the Trojans (3-17) outlast Flushing (7-14) for the Flint Metro Crossover win.

INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY OF FLINT 48, MORRICE 39

Logan Smith had 16 points and Joel Fisher had 10 points for the Orioles in their loss.

CARSON CITY-CRYSTAL 40, VESTABURG 39
