Boys basketball: North Jersey Top 25 rankings as county tournaments near
Don Bosco maintains the No. 1 spot in the North Jersey boys’ basketball Top 25 rankings after winning both its games last week.
The Ironmen (12-3) have won eight of their last nine games following last week’s 78-62 victory over Teaneck and 62-45 win over Paul VI.
Bergen Catholic (11-5) is No. 2, Ramapo is No. 3 (10-6), St. Joseph (8-4) is No. 4, and Ridgewood (13-2) is No. 5, based on results reported through Sunday.
Pascack Valley (8-7) has catapulted back into the Top 25 on the strength of a six-game winning streak and sits at No. 19.
Chris Gaskin, in his 22nd season guiding Ridgefield Park, is the latest coach to reach a milestone, securing his 300th career win with Wednesday’s 49-33 victory over Ferris. Earlier this season, Eddie Rendzio, leading Waldwick after a long stint at Wood-Ridge, broke 400, while Becton’s Dan Balaban hit 100.
