The University of Kentucky women’s basketball team played the University of South Carolina in the championship game of the Southeastern Conference Tournament at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Sunday. The unranked Wildcats defeated the No. 1 Gamecocks, 64-62.
The victory secured the SEC’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament for the Wildcats, who now take a week off before learning their next postseason destination. The Selection Sunday reveal of the women’s field of 68 takes place at 8 p.m. on March 13.
