Boston’s Grant Williams fined for spiking ball into stands during loss to Golden State
Boston Celtics forward Grant Williams has been fined $20,000 for spiking the game ball into the stands in the final moments of Saturday’s Finals rematch against the Golden State Warriors. Williams was hit with a technical foul and subsequent ejection for his actions.
The incident in question occurred with just a few minutes remaining in a tough loss for the Celtics. After the game, Williams was asked about the moment.
“I have to be better in a sense of being more mature and understanding that your emotion is as good as what you base yourself growing as a player.” Williams said.
