According to a UW source, the Executive Committee of the UW Board of Regents on Friday approved Engram’s compensation package.

Contract details were not immediately available.

Engram, 49, recently completed his eighth season as an assistant with the Baltimore Ravens. He coached the team’s wide receivers for the first five seasons (2014-18) before taking over the tight ends.

Before moving to the NFL, Engram, coached wide receivers under Chryst at Pittsburgh in 2012 and 2013.

He is the father of current UW defensive back Dean Engram.

According to the source, the position group Engram will oversee remains to be determined. The Journal Sentinel reported recently part of the reason for the uncertainty is that running backs coach Gary Brown continues to battle health issues and his status for the 2022 season is unclear.

Bob Bostad is still set to shift to the offensive line from inside linebackers. He replaces Joe Rudolph, who left after the bowl game for Virginia Tech.

Bostad's move could allow outside linebackers coach Bobby April, who is also the defensive run-game coordinator and is entering his fifth season on the staff, to oversee both linebacker units in 2022.
