Butch Jones says that defensive back Cameron Sutton received a death threat after loss to Vanderbilt

It's just a game, people. Even if your favorite team loses in heartbreaking fashion.

Tennessee lost to Vanderbilt 14-10 after the Commodores scored the winning touchdown with 20 seconds left. That touchdown was set up by a 25-yard pass to Jordan Matthews, who was covered by Tennessee freshman Cam Sutton.

On Monday, according to GoVolsExtra.com, coach Butch Jones said that Sutton had received a death threat after the game. He declined to elaborate about any of the details.

Do we need to even explain how ridiculous this is? Sure, more than 99 percent of college football fans are rational, but there's the crazy fraction of a percent that have to take things like this to the extreme.

Yeah, this was the first time that Vanderbilt had beaten Tennessee in consecutive years since 1926. Combine that with the performance of Tennessee's football program in recent years, and fan frustration is expected. But some people just have to take it to the completely unnecessary extremes.
