First she was in, then she was out, now she's in again.

The latest word has it that Jennifer Lopez will in fact be performing alongside Pitbull and Claudia Leitte for the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in Brazil on Thursday. The trio will be performing “We Are One (Ole Ola),” the official song of the 2014 tournament.

FIFA officials had issued a statement earlier in the week that Lopez would not be performing at the opening ceremony as originally scheduled. The singer's representatives offered no explanation at the time of the statement while FIFA cited "production issues."

Some Brazilians have taken to social media to show their dislike for the "We Are One" music video, which depicts stereotypical images of Brazil, rather than really showing the true culture. (The YouTube video has over 72 million views and a little over 100,000 dislikes). Some speculated that might have been part of what discouraged Lopez from attending the ceremonies.

There were also suggestions that her absence may have been due to her recent split with boyfriend Casper Smart or that there was a disagreement over travel expenses.

But now suddenly, it's all good. The singer's representatives released the following statement Tuesday:

"Jennifer has always wanted to participate in the World Cup opening ceremonies. We have been trying to work out scheduling and logistics. Any statements to the contrary were premature. Jennifer would not want to disappoint her fans or fans of futbol. She will be there."

So whatever issues there may, or may not have been, they have apparently been resolved. If they ever existed in the first place. The one thing that seems certain, however, is that we can now expect to see Jenny from the Block onstage, for the World Cup opening ceremoniy, this Thursday.

And if not? Well, maybe Shakira is still available.
