Bishop forfeits high school football game against Refugio
Bishop Athletic Director George Luna and Refugio head football coach Jason Herring confirmed on Thursday that the Badgers have forfeited Friday's non-district game, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Ed Gorny Stadium.
Luna could not comment on the reason for the forfeit, but the Bobcats will be awarded a 2-0 victory to improve to 3-1 ahead of next week's District 15-2A Division I opener against Bloomington. Multiple media outlets are reporting that the cancellation was due to health issues.
The Badgers are now 1-3 with two non-district games left against West Oso and Lyford.
Herring and the Bobcats have begun searching for a Week 4 opponent.
