Binstock Brothers take twin checkers at Southwest Speedway Championship Night

Aug. 21—DICKINSON — To say it was an inclusive race would be an understatement. Racers from across southwest North Dakota and the rest of the upper Midwest were locked, stocked and ready to roll at Southwest Speedway as Dickinson played host to a thrilling night of dirt track racing on Saturday.

It was Championship Night, a spectacle that race fans and drivers alike had been eagerly awaiting. The star-studded event brought together some of the region's finest drivers, including the Binstock brothers of Dickinson, who dominated their individual classes main feature.

The IMCA Stock Car division witnessed another remarkable performance, from Casey Binstock (No. 22), who emerged victorious in the 20-lap A Feature. This was Binstock's first feature win this season, missing the top of the podium but finishing in the top five in four previous races. He displayed exceptional control, beating Jason Berg (No. 46) who finished in second place. The pair were closely pursued by Luke Krogh (No. 11K), rounding out the podium.

Big brother Jordan Binstock (No. 5) added to the family's glory with a masterful win in the IMCA Northern SportMod A Feature. Jordan Binstock's secured grip, smooth driving and over a decade worth of experience allowed him to find success for the second time in the season. Darren Schatz followed in second place, while Shawn Keena secured the third spot.

"I am pretty excited, I don't think we have both won on the same night before. Especially on Championship Night," Jordan Binstocks said. "Can't really ask for much more. Our family and friends came out to support us, and we went out and had fun."

In the IMCA Modified A Feature, a 25-lap showdown that had fans on the edge of their seats, it was Richardton's Zach Frederick (5) who emerged victorious. Frederick started from the seventh position but quickly worked his way to the front of the pack. Travis Tooley (No. 15) chased him to the checkered flag, finishing a close second, followed by Jeremy Sorensen (No. 1HZ) in third.

Frederick's win was nothing short of spectacular, and his triumph showcased the depth of talent in the IMCA Modified class. The race saw intense battles, with Randy Burwick (No. 2R) and Michael Hartigan (No. 334) putting up strong fights, but in the end, it was Frederick who claimed the top spot.

"I am pretty happy where we are at," Casey Binstock said. "We seem to get better and better every race and are figuring it out. I would like to stay competitive enough in this class."

The fast and exhilarating class of INEX Legends saw a thrilling battle on the dirt oval, with New England driver Noah Madler (No. 800) taking the checkered flag after a relentless race. Madler's victory was hard-fought, with Tommie Quenzer (No. 49) and Gage Madler (No. 700) finishing closely behind in second and third, respectively. The race featured some incredible action, showcasing the skill of young drivers.

Ethan Neu (No. 51E) of Fairview, Montana showcased his prowess in the IMCA Hobby Stock A Feature, taking gold. Neu's victory was a testament to his driving talent, holding off Taylor Heaton, who finished in second, and Chad Jahner in third.

Southwest Speedway's Championship Night was a true celebration to the season of racing. Their exceptional performances left the crowd in awe and solidified their status as some of the finest racers in the region. The event concluded seasonal points.
