Billy Turner says progress is being made in the offensive line

The focus of the Jets’ offense lately has been the work of the offensive line. A unit that struggled in 2022 has a huge spotlight on them this season the addition of quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

It’s been an up and down summer to say the least for the unit. But one player is at least speaking up for the group.

Offensive tackle Billy Turner is competing for a starting spot up front. With Duane Brown on the Physically Unable to Perform list, Turner has been running at left tackle with Max Mitchell at right tackle.

Turner says there is progress being made along the offensive line. “We’re making strides,” Turner said, via the Jets official website. “There’s definitely progress being made. There’s a lot of new stuff going in that a lot of guys have never done before so you’re going to have some growing pains. But all in all, were definitely making some strides.”

Turner is also trying to transition to left tackle with Mitchell holding down right tackle and Mekhi Becton still hoping to make an impact and win back one of the starting jobs.

The line continues to be a work in progress and will undone a huge key role in how much success the Jets have in 2023.
