Bills lock up LB Murphy on 3-year deal

Linebacker Trent Murphy has signed with the Buffalo Bills on a three-year contract announced Wednesday.

The deal is worth $21 million, according to ESPN, while NFL Network reports Murphy could earn up to $30 million.

Bidding intensified for Murphy, who has 15.5. sacks in his career but missed the 2017 season with a torn ACL.

The New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers made bids for Murphy, per Jenna Laine of ESPN.com.

A second-round pick of the Washington Redskins in 2014, Murphy has 112 tackles in his career.

The Redskins reportedly attempted to keep Murphy in Washington.

Murphy posted a thank you to Redskins fans on Instagram on Wednesday morning.
