Bill Algeo vs. Ricardo Ramos set for UFC event on April 17

A featherweight fight has been added to the UFC schedule.

Bill Algeowill take on Ricardo Ramos at an upcoming UFC Fight Night event on April 17. The card doesn’t currently have a publicly-announced location or venue, but the promotion has received licensure to hold the event at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Two people with knowledge of the matchup informed MMA Junkie of the booking Friday but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.

Algeo (14-5 MMA, 1-1 UFC) has split his UFC appearances to date. After a “Fight of the Night” bonus-earning performance in his promotional debut, a unanimous decision loss to former UFC featherweight title challenger Ricardo Lamas, Algeo picked up his first UFC victory in November. He defeated “The Alpha Ginger” Spike Carlyle via unanimous decision.

Meanwhile, Ramos (14-3 MMA, 5-2 UFC) was scheduled to compete at UFC Fight Night 187 on March 13, but his fight was scrapped after opponent Zubaira Tukhugov withdrew due to injury. Ramos most recently competed in July when he was finished by Lerone Murphy via ground-and-pound.

With the addition, the UFC’s April 17 lineup includes:

  • Kelvin Gastelum vs. Robert Whittaker

  • Bartosz Fabinski vs. Gerald Meerschaert

  • Parker Porter vs. Chase Sherman

  • Tracy Cortez vs. Justine Kish

  • Tony Gravely vs. Nate Maness

  • Austin Hubbard vs. Natan Levy

  • Drakkar Klose vs. Jeremy Stephens

  • Bill Algeo vs. Ricardo Ramos
