Big 12 Football: Where each team lands in ESPN’s updated SP+ projections for 2022
It’s that time of year where college football preseason projections are running rampant across national media websites.
One of the most interesting to keep an eye on is ESPN’s SP+ rankings, which is based on three factors: Returning production, recent recruiting and recent history.
Prior to Monday, the last ESPN SP+ rankings were published in February. Since then, there’s been plenty of movement in the transfer portal with players coming and going from several Power Five programs across the country.
Taking the recent changes into consideration, Bill Connelly released the updated SP+ projections (exclusive content) this week. Connelly included a change column to the updated rankings, which represents how much a team’s rating has changed since February.
Oklahoma is still far and away the highest team ranked in the Big 12, while Texas and Oklahoma State are neck and neck in the low 30’s. Here is where each Big 12 team lands in Connelly’s updated SP+ rankings.
