Bibiano Fernandes Signs with the UFC, Finds First Opponent at UFC 149


The UFC has signed another top ten bantamweight as former Dream champion Bibiano Fernandes joins the promotion and will make his debut at UFC 149.

UFC officials announced the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu specialist will face Ultimate Fighter alum Roland Delorme.

Currently riding a three-fight winning streak, former Dream champion Bibiano Fernandes comes to the UFC ranked as the No. 8 bantamweight on the MMAWeekly.com World MMA rankings.

Most recently, Fernandes dispatched of former WEC fighter Antonio Banuelos in the finals of the Dream bantamweight Grand Prix that closed out 2011.

Facing Fernandes in his UFC debut will be fellow ground fighter Roland Delorme, who now stands at 2-0 in the Octagon.

Delorme defeated Josh Ferguson at the Ultimate Fighter season 14 finale show before putting away Nick Denis at UFC on Fox 3 in May.

Now he faces a top ten fighter with a chance to make a big impact in his next trip to the Octagon.
