I'm Minty Bets joined by Kevin Iole to give us his best bet for the weekend. Kevin, the main event is a women's featherweight bout between Aspen Ladd, minus 155, versus Norma Dumont, plus 130. What are your thoughts on this fight?
KEVIN IOLE: Boy, this is a really tough one, Minty. And I'll tell you why, for a number of reasons. Aspen Ladd missed weight a couple of weeks ago in a bantamweight fight. Now she's back to replace the injured Holly Holm, and this fight going up to fight at featherweight. And she hasn't fought since 2019.
Her only loss came to Germaine de Randamie in a fight where she was knocked out in 16 seconds. And it was a fight where some people thought it was stopped a little bit too soon-- including Aspen Ladd, I should mention. So it's really hard to get a gauge on this, but I just decided to go with who I think is the better overall fighter.
And that is Aspen Ladd. So I'm going to go ahead and lay the money here and hope that Aspen is in good condition, is ready to fight. The thing I worry about a little bit is, she peeked from the weigh in before, and then went down, and now she's going to have to do it again so soon. Does that drain her?
But I like Aspen Ladd to win this. I think she's the overall better fighter. She has more tools in the toolbox. I like Ladd to win this fight.
