Betting: Is Niners to win Super Bowl good value in futures market?

Minty Bets, Pamela Maldonado, and Ariel Epstein break down their top values in the futures market midway through the NFL regular season.

Video Transcript

MINTY BETS: We are now at the midway point of the NFL season, and things have been weird. I'm Minty Bets joined by Ariel Epstein and Pam Maldonado. And we are here to give you guys some of the future bets that we believe still hold some value for those of you that want a little action in the futures market.

Ariel, let's start with you. What do you have for us?

ARIEL EPSTEIN: I really like for the San Francisco 49ers to win the Super Bowl at 11 to 1. It's great value on a team that got better at the trade deadline. The 49ers added their running back Christian McCaffrey, who is one of the best and most dynamic running backs in the league. He can catch the ball out of the backfield. He can run with the football.

It's going to add a huge element to this 49ers offense, who also has their wide receiver Deebo Samuel that's a hybrid player as well, can play running back, wide receiver. They have a great tight end in George Kittle. Defenses win championships. And the 49ers have one of the best defenses in football. Not only are they top 10 against the pass, they're the best run defense as well.

The NFC is also very winnable. The Bucs are in a down year. The Packers are in a down year. I don't trust anybody out of the NFC East. I really like the 49ers to come out of this division and the conference and potentially win the Super Bowl at 11 to 1.

MINTY BETS: I like that pick a lot, Ariel. Now, Pam, you don't have a team for us. You have a player you're looking at. Who's the player?

PAMELA MALDONADO: I do. I really like Houston running back Dameon Pierce plus 220 to win Offensive Rookie of the Year. These awards are stat-driven. Pierce has a great yards per rush attempt over betting favorite in Seattle running back Kenneth Walker, III by 1 full yard.

Pierce can absolutely explode in the next few weeks. And that's what you want to look for when you're looking at the futures market. Texans head Coach Lovie Smith, he already that he found himself a winning recipe, and that's feed Pierce the ball. Well, who do the Texans have next? It starts all with the Giants, the second worst in the league for opponent yards per carry.

Continue with that old school ground and pound because the Giants have allowed four running backs over 100 rushing yards, including Ravens running back in Kenyon Drake with 119. Kenneth Walker against the Giants, only 51 yards for 2.8 yards per carry. Pierce can absolutely go off against New York. And if he does do really well against the Giants, the odds could flip in his favor.

Houston's final eight games face three teams bottom 10 against the run. I love Dameon Pierce plus 200 to win Offensive Rookie of the Year.

MINTY BETS: I'm looking at the Atlanta Falcons to win the NFC South at plus 325. Now, laugh all you want, but let's look at this division. The Saints are beyond banged up, and they don't have a reliable quarterback. The Panthers are a hot mess. They also don't have a reliable quarterback.

And the Bucs, they're slow, and they can't score. Yeah, they have a great defense. But again, they can't score. They're not their usual dominant selves anymore.

The Falcons are ninth in scoring offense. They're fourth in rushing yards per game. And they're tied sixth in takeaways. I like the Falcons here as a good sleeper team with great odds for a division, honestly, wide open.

To recap our picks, Ariel is going with the 49ers to win the Super Bowl. Pam is on Dameon Pierce for Offensive Rookie of the Year. And I like the Falcons to win the NFC South.
