Bengals visited with QB ahead of 2024 NFL draft

The Cincinnati Bengals recently visited with a small-school quarterback ahead of the 2024 NFL draft.

According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, the Bengals were one of many teams on hand to see a workout from Samford Bulldogs quarterback Michael Hiers.

Hiers, a senior, completed 76.6 percent of his passes with 36 touchdowns and four interceptions in 2022 before completing 72 percent with 18 scores and eight picks last season.

The Bengals annually look at quarterbacks in the draft for developmental purposes. They recently had Drew Plitt and others in similar capacities over the last few years before signing AJ McCarron behind Jake Browning late last season.

McCarron is gone and Browning and Joe Burrow are the only passers on the roster right now, so doing the draft work on names like Hiers is standard.
