Belichick tells Tim Tebow to stay ready

It remains unclear how involved Tim Tebow will be when the New England Patriots kick off their preseason schedule tonight against the Philadelphia Eagles.

No announcement has been made by tight-lipped Patriots coach Bill Belichick, and Tebow would be working in behind Tom Brady and Ryan Mallett.

“I don’t know, it’s not something we’ve really talked about,” Tebow told reporters.

Tebow said Belichick told him to keep his arm prepared, saying: "Just be ready when your number is called."

Tebow, the oft-traveled former Heisman Trophy winner from Florida, is confident he's improving each day.

“I feel like I’m getting better every single day,” Tebow said. “More comfortable with the offense, better timing with everybody around me, better understanding of what the coaches want me to do and with the offense, with the reads, with the timing.”

“So it’s just every day trying to get a little bit better, and it sounds cliché, but it’s true. That’s really what I’m focused on, and I know it’s something that hopefully I’ve been able to accomplish.”

And the Tebow watch continues.
