Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid starting lineups: Jamal Musiala injury latest and semi-final team news

Both Jamal Musiala and Leroy Sane have overcome injuries to make Bayern Munich’s starting line-up to face Real Madrid tonight.

Musiala sat out the Germans’ win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday with a tendon injury, despite coach Thomas Tuchel declaring pre-game that he would be fit.

Sane has been battling a groin issue but, like Musiala, was fit to train ahead of the Champions League semi-final first leg in Bavaria.

Konrad Laimer is also fit and Dayot Upamecano makes the bench with Matthijs de Ligt out.

Thomas Tuchel admitted it would be a late call regarding Sane and Musiala as he claimed that Serge Gnabry would not only play after overcoming a thigh issue, but score too. The ex-Arsenal man is not in the XI, however.

He stated: “Serge Gnabry is going to score. It’s going to happen. I don’t know where it’ll come from, but it’s going to happen.”

Madrid are without the suspended Dani Carvajal, allowing Lucas Vazquez a start after his recent heroics in El Clasico. Thibaut Courtois is on the bench after a long spell out injured.

Carlo Ancelotti confirmed the return of Ferland Mendy yesterday after a muscle problem and the illness issues which kept Jude Bellingham and Rodrygo out of Friday’s win at Real Sociedad have subsided.
