Baseball composite: Tigers still unranked in every major poll

Auburn baseball is still unranked after the Tigers dropped a series to Florida on the road.

Auburn got off to a great start by knocking off the Gators on Friday, 10-1, behind a four-RBI game by Ike Irish and a six-run 2nd inning. Auburn head coach Butch Thompson called Florida’s offense “the best it gets in America”, and on Saturday, the Gators delivered. Florida had their way with the Tigers by racking up 19 hits in a 12-5 victory on Saturday to even the series. Then, on Sunday, Auburn built an 8-3 lead through 4 1/2 innings before Florida scored 14 unanswered runs to win the series with a 17-8 drubbing in game three.

Next up is a three-game set with Texas A&M who, like Auburn, has had a rough go in the SEC with a 3-6 conference record. Auburn has high hopes to win the series in front of the home crowd, which may help boost their stock in the rankings this time next week.

Here’s a look at where Auburn ranks in this week’s five major polls.
