Baltimore Ravens at San Francisco 49ers: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 16 game

Is Santa Claus bringing NFL fans a preview of Super Bowl 58?

The Baltimore Ravens (11-3) take on the San Francisco 49ers (11-3) to close out Week 16 action on Christmas Day in a battle of heavyweights at Levi's Stadium.

Both teams already have their playoff ticket punched as they have steamrolled through the 2023 season, but the No. 1 seed in each conference is still on the line.

The Ravens are riding a four-game win streak after beating the Jacksonville Jaguars 23-7 on the road in primetime. Lamar Jackson had 268 total yards on the night and used his legs to outwit the Jaguars' defense. Baltimore's defense forced three turnovers from Trevor Lawrence. The Ravens have outscored opponents 114-68 in their stretch of victories.

MVP candidate Christian McCaffrey has powered the 49ers to six straight wins. He's scored seven touchdowns in that period, including three in last week's 45-29 dismantling of the Arizona Cardinals where Brock Purdy threw four touchdowns for the third time this season. McCaffrey leads the league with 1,292 rushing yards.

Will the 49ers keep rolling at home? Or will Jackson surge his team to another road victory?

Lorenzo Reyes: 49ers 28, Ravens 20

If there’s one weakness in Baltimore’s defense, it’s against the rush, where the Niners are lethal. Christian McCaffrey is averaging 116.8 rushing yards per game over his last four. San Francisco also gets creative in using Deebo Samuel in the rushing game. Playing with all the confidence in the world, I like the 49ers here, especially with the game in the Bay Area.

Tyler Dragon: 49ers 24, Ravens 23

It’s fitting the game of the week is the Week 16 finale. The 49ers and Ravens are the best two teams in the NFL right now; this game could be a preview of this year’s Super Bowl. The 49ers have the longest active winning streak in the NFL and only one opponent has scored more than 20 points against them in the past six contests. Lamar Jackson is going to have to put on his Superman cape to beat the juggernaut in the Bay.

Safid Deen: 49ers 30, Ravens 17

Lamar Jackson will be a handful and carry the Ravens, but this will be a game they miss Mark Andrews and Keaton Mitchell – both out due to season-ending injuries. The 49ers are far and away the best team in the NFL with the most explosive offense and stout defense to match. San Francisco cements themselves as Super Bowl favorites after this one.

Victoria Hernandez: 49ers 27, Ravens 24

This is the game of the week and might be in the running for the game of the season. Both teams are steamrolling through opponents and looking like legitimate Super Bowl contenders. San Francisco has home-field advantage and MVP candidate Christian McCaffrey has been playing like a machine.

Jordan Mendoza: 49ers 30, Ravens 24

Could this be a future Super Bowl matchup? Both teams are rolling at the moment, but no team looks to be on the same level as San Francisco right now. The 49ers have won by an average of 18.8 points at home, and while it’s not a double-digit victory, the NFC leader reigns supreme on Christmas night.
