There are plenty of stakes in Texas football's upcoming game vs. Alabama, but Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox and Austin Mayor Kirk Watson have added their own beef to the party.

Not figuratively - literally.

The two have a bet going on, where the losing city will have to send barbecue to the winner. If UT wins, Watson will receive Dreamland BBQ from Alabama. If the Crimson Tide emerge victorious, Maddox will get to try the award-winning Micklethwait Craft Meat barbecue.

Once upon a time ranked the fourth best barbecue in Austin, Micklethwait is most known for not only its brisket and ribs, but its unique offerings such as the pulled lamb and barbacoa. Despite the confidence of Mayor Watson, there's a decent chance that Mayor Maddox will be blessed with an offering of Austin barbecue.

If Texas is to win on Saturday, they'll need to keep Quinn Ewers safe and will need a strong performance from the defense, which is tasked with containing Alabama QB Jalen Milroe.

If they can do both, Austin can win not only the game, but the beef as well.
