“Flau’jae’s story is one of perseverance, talent, and inspiration. She perfectly embodies the values and spirit of TAF, making her an ideal brand ambassador for our community,” Darius Billings, VP of marketing and community engagement at The Athlete’s Foot, said in a statement.

Johnson has continued to make headlines this month during the 2024 Women’s NCAA Tournament. Despite the LSU Tigers’ 94-87 loss to Iowa in the Elite Eight on Monday night, Johnson led LSU with 23 points. Last year, LSU took home the NCAA title after defeating Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Johnson was critical to the team and she was the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Freshman of the Year during the 2022-23 season.

Said Johnson, “[This is] a platform where I can share my story, connect with others who are chasing their dreams, and blend my worlds of basketball and music. I’m excited to be a part of this partnership with TAF, and I hope to continue to inspire others.”

Outside of basketball, Johnson is a rapper and is currently signed with Roc Nation.

The retailer continues to champion young athletes. In June last year, The Athlete’s Foot teamed up with HBCU Elite 100 for a national signing event program at its Lee Street location in Atlanta, Ga. Student athletes and champs participating in the signing included Xavier Griffith representing Clark Atlanta men’s basketball, Cedric Taylor III representing Morehouse men’s basketball, Perry Smith Jr. representing North Carolina Central University men’s basketball, Jalal McKie representing North Carolina A&T men’s basketball, Myori Pruitt representing Clark Atlanta women’s basketball, and Haley Dalton representing Winston-Salem State University women’s basketball.
