Talented Scottish youngster John McGinn scored one of the goals of the season to equalise for Aston Villa against Sheffield Wednesday with an astonishing volley to open his account for the club.

McGinn, who move to Villa Park in the summer from Hibernian with a hugely promising reputation, waited outside the box under a looped clearance before unleashing a stunning first-time strike.

The 23-year-old's goal, in the 53rd minute, pulled Villa level having been 1-0 down to their Yorkshire visitors, but it didn't last long as Steven Fletcher restored Wednesday's lead within a few minutes.
