Asomugha to retire as a Raider on Friday

Veteran cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha will retire with the Oakland Raiders on Friday.

He'll hold a retirement press conference Friday night that will be attended by Raiders defensive back Charles Woodson and former Raiders defensive backs Willie Brown and Lester Hayes.

A first-round draft pick of the Raiders in 2003, Asomugha played for Oakland until 2010, signing with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011 and spending two ineffective seasons in Philadelphia. He played for the San Francisco 49ers before being cut this season.

A three-time Pro Bowl selection, Asomugha has 15 career interceptions and 80 pass deflections.
