Asian and African Cup call-ups

Steve Rothgeb breaks down the player rankings at each position ahead of Week 21

The Asia Cup in Australia begins on 9 January (ending on 31 Jan) and the African Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea starts on 17 January (ending on 8 February) meaning players called up for either tournament could miss up to four Premier League game-weeks - beginning Week 21 - depending on the progress of their national sides.

The call-ups:


Aston Villa: Chris Herd (Australia)


Crystal Palace: Yannick Bolasie (DR Congo), Adlene Guediora (Algeria), Mile Jedinak (Australia)


Everton: Christian Atsu (Ghana)


Hull City: Mo Diame (Senegal)


Leicester City: Riyad Mahrez (Algeria), Jeffrey Schlupp (Ghana)


Liverpool: Kolo Toure (Ivory Coast)


Man City: Yaya Toure (Ivory Coast)


Newcastle United: Mehdi Abeid (Algeria), Papiss Cisse (Senegal), Cheick Tiote (Ivory Coast)


Queens Park Rangers: Yun Suk-young (Korean Republic)


Southampton: Sadio Mane (Senegal), Emmanuel Mayuka (Zambia), Maya Yoshida (Japan)


Stoke City: Mame Biram Diouf (Senegal)


Swansea City: Wilfried Bony (Ivory Coast), Ki Sung-yueng (Korean Republic)


Tottenham: Nabil Bentaleb (Algeria), Bongani Khumalo (South Africa)


West Brom: Jason Davidson (Australia), Youssouf Mulumbu (DR Congo)


West Ham: Cheikhou Kouyate (Senegal), Diafra Sakho (Senegal)


Arsenal, Burnley, Chelsea, Manchester Utd and Sunderland do not have any players involved in either tournament.

The biggest losses are Bolasie and Jedinak for Palace, Mahrez for Leicester, Kolo and Yaya Toure for Liverpool and Man City respectively, Cisse and Tiote for Newcastle, Biram Diouf for Stoke, Mane for the Saints, Bony and Ki for Swansea, Bentaleb for Spurs and Kouyate and Sakho for the Hammers.
