Asheville Tourists offer 75 cent tickets for McCormick Field's 100th anniversary

Buncombe County's lobbyists will advocate for money for McCormick Field.

For one day only, the Asheville Tourists are throwing it back to 1924 in the ticket booth.

In honor of the 100th anniversary of the first professional baseball game at McCormick Field, the Tourists are offering fans a chance to purchase tickets for 75 cents, just like they would have 100 years ago.

The Tourists will play an exhibition game against the Fayetteville Woodpeckers on April 3, 2024, the 100th anniversary of McCormick Field’s first professional game, and fans can purchase the specially priced tickets until the end of the day.

McCormick Field is the third-oldest ballpark in use in Minor League Baseball. The Tourists have been playing professional baseball in Asheville since the late 1800s, with the Tourists moniker first coming around in 1915.

The Tourists, the High-A Affiliate of the Houston Astros, open their regular season against the Winston-Salem Dash on April 5 at McCormick Field.

Fans can purchase tickets at TouristTickets.com until the end of the day, or by calling the box office at (828) 258-0428 until 5 p.m.
