Game 3

Ninth Inning

  • FINAL: No. 8 Kentucky 7, No. 2 Arkansas 4. The Hogs drop their second SEC series of the year and the Wildcats sit alone atop the SEC standings. Here are four takeaways from a rare losing weekend for Arkansas.

  • Peyton Stovall hit a home run to lead off the inning, and Arkansas has runners on first and second with just one out. Kendall Diggs is at the plate, representing the tying run in a 7-4 deficit.

Eighth Inning

  • Neither team scores, and Kentucky will carry a 7-3 lead into the ninth.

Seventh Inning

  • An error by Peyton Holt in center field allows Kentucky to get the run back and extend its lead to 7-3 as we head to the eighth.

  • Arkansas continues to claw back, and an RBI single by Kendall Diggs trims the deficit to 6-3. Still, the Hogs left two runners on base and now have stranded nine runners in total.

Sixth Inning

  • No score for either side. Gabe Gaeckle pitched a scoreless frame for Arkansas. Dave Van Horn's decision to throw McEntire instead of Gaeckle or Foutch in the fourth looks increasingly questionable as this game rolls on.

Fifth Inning

  • Christian Foutch does a nice job pitching a scoreless frame to keep Arkansas within striking distance at 6-2. Kentucky is summoning Robert Hogan out of the bullpen for the sixth.

  • Arkansas scores two runs thanks to RBIs by Wehiwa Aloy and Jared Sprague-Lott, but the Hogs stranded runners on first and second with another inning-ending strikeout of Kendall Diggs. Kentucky leads 6-2 heading to the bottom of the fifth.

Fourth Inning

  • Mason Molina's day is done after just three innings, with Dave Van Horn turning to Will McEntire out of the bullpen in the fourth.

  • Arkansas gets runners to first and second with one out, but Parker Rowland grounds into an inning-ending double play. The Hogs still don't have a hit and trail 3-0 heading to the bottom of the fourth.

Third Inning

  • Arkansas is in a world of trouble as Kentucky stretches its lead to 3-0 through three innings. Nick Lopez hit a towering two-run homer to left field after Mason Molina walked Devin Burkes on four pitches.

Second Inning

  • No score for either side in the inning. Kentucky still leads 1-0 heading to the third.

First Inning

  • Kentucky snags a 1-0 lead on a solo home run by Emilien Pitre. Mason Molina needed 26 pitches to get out of the first inning, and Dave Van Horn has already started sending relievers down to the bullpen as we head to the second.

  • Arkansas strands runners on first and second as Mason Moore strikes out the side. Kendall Diggs was the final out of the inning and is now 2-for-9 on the weekend after being the offensive hero Friday night.

Pregame

  • Arkansas and Kentucky are closing in on Sunday's rubber match, with Mason Molina returning to the mound after missing last week's start with an ankle injury. He'll go against Kentucky's Mason Moore, and the Hogs have made two lineup changes with Will Edmunson starting in left field and Parker Rowland serving as the designated hitter.

Game 2

Ninth Inning

  • FINAL: No. 8 Kentucky 11, No. 2 Arkansas 3. The top-10 showdown will be decided tomorrow afternoon as the Hogs never got the bats going Saturday. Brady Tygart takes the loss, while Kentucky's Dominic Niman improves to 8-3 on the year by giving up just two runs in 5 1/3 innings.

Fourth Inning

  • Kentucky strikes for four runs and leads Arkansas 7-2 heading to the fifth. That's a disappointing start for Tygart, and the Hogs have a mountain to climb if they want to avoid a rubber match tomorrow.

  • Brady Tygart's day is done after Kentucky gets two runners on with zero outs. Gage Wood is coming out of the bullpen with runners on the corners and the Hogs still trailing 3-2. Big spot here for Wood to limit the damage and keep Arkansas within striking distance.

Second Inning

  • Kentucky scores three runs and takes a 3-2 lead off an unfortunate play in left field for Arkansas. With two outs and runners on second third, left fielder Ross Lovich was camped next to the wall when the ball hit off yellow line on top of the fence and bounced safely down for a two-run double.

  • Arkansas grabs a 2-0 lead thanks to a two-run homer from Hudson White. That's White's first home run since opening day, and the Hogs have an early lead for Brady Tygart.

First Inning

  • Kentucky strands the bases loaded thanks to a diving grab by Ben McLaughlin at first base. Kentucky believed pitcher Brady Tygart didn't have a foot on the bag when McLaughlin threw over to first, but the Wildcats' challenge was unsuccessful.

  • Arkansas gets two runners on with two outs, but Kendall Diggs pops up to the Kentucky shortstop. Kentucky is coming to bat against Brady Tygart.

Pregame

Game 1

Ninth Inning

FINAL: No. 2 Arkansas 10, No. 8 Kentucky 3. Dylan Carter gave up two runs in the ninth, but the Hogs cruised to a series-opening win and didn't have to pitch Gabe Gaeckle out of the bullpen. Hagen Smith and Kendall Diggs were fantastic. Brady Tygart will be on the bump tomorrow as the Hogs try to clinch the series.

Eighth Inning

  • No score for either side. Will McEntire logged two scoreless innings as he continues to try and rediscover his form from earlier this season. Arkansas leads Kentucky 10-1 heading to the ninth.

Seventh Inning

  • Arkansas scores six runs and now has a 10-1 lead over Kentucky. Kendall Diggs with two more RBIs to give him four on the night, and the Hogs scored a pair of runs on bases-loaded walks. Will McEntire is coming out of the bullpen to replace Hagen Smith.

Sixth Inning

  • Hagen Smith strikes out the side for the third time tonight and he now has 14 strikeouts on the evening. Arkansas leads 4-1 heading to the the seventh.

  • Arkansas grabs a 4-1 lead. Kendall Diggs got the scoring started with a two-run double to right field, and Ross Lovich drove in Diggs with another double later in the inning. Diggs had just six RBIs in the last 30 days prior, but that's a clutch contribution from the junior right fielder.

Fifth Inning

  • Kentucky got a runner to third with one out, but back-to-back strikeouts give Hagen Smith 11 on the night and end the inning. It's still 1-1 heading to the sixth.

  • Peyton Stovall scored Hudson White with an RBI double to left to tie the score at 1-1. Stovall has six hits in his last seven at-bats.

Fourth Inning

  • No score for either side in the fourth. Hagen Smith now has nine strikeouts, but the Hogs trail 1-0 as we head to the fifth.

Third Inning

  • Kentucky takes a 1-0 lead as Ryan Waldschmidt ropes a two-out double off the wall in center field to score Devin Burkes. Arkansas has been hitting the ball hard, but it's Kentucky who takes an early advantage against Hagen Smith.

Second Inning

  • Hagen Smith strikes out the side and now has four through two innings. It's 0-0 heading to the third.

  • It's happening, again. Arkansas strands runners on the corners and is now 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position. More missed opportunities for the Hogs in the SEC.

First Inning

  • Hagen Smith finishes a scoreless inning with a strikeout, and the Hogs are coming to bat in the second.

  • Peyton Stovall led things off with a single, but he was stranded at second base to end the top of the first. Hagen Smith is about to get his evening started.

Pregame

  • Starting lineups are posted, and Arkansas has a few surprises with just three lefties getting the nod against Kentucky righty Trey Pooser. Hagen Smith is on the bump for the Hogs and looking to stay unbeaten on the season.
