How has the Arizona football team fared all-time against its new conference foes?

The Wildcats have a winning record all-time against three future Big 12 conference opponents: Arizona State, Iowa State and Kansas State.

They have had some struggles against other schools, particularly Texas Tech, whom the Wildcats are just 5-26-2 all-time.

Arizona has never played Cincinnati, UCF or West Virginia in football.

Arizona vs. Arizona State: 50-45-1

Arizona does hold the series advantage, but the Sun Devils won five in a row in this rivalry before the Wildcats beat Arizona State last season, 38-35. ASU is 16-8 in the series since 1999.

Arizona vs. Baylor: 0-1

The Wildcats lost to the Bears in El Paso on Dec. 31, 1992 in the Sun Bowl, 20-15 in the lone meeting between the two schools on a football field.

Arizona vs. BYU: 12-12-1

How's that for an all-time series record? The Cougars have won the three most recent meetings between the teams, including a 24-16 win in 2021.

Arizona State football vs. Big 12 teams: ASU has losing record vs. one new conference foe

Arizona vs. Colorado: 9-16

Colorado won 12 straight games against the Wildcats between 1931-85. Arizona did win the most recent matchups between the schools in 2022, when it beat the Buffaloes in Tucson, 43-20.

Arizona vs. Houston: 1-3

The Wildcats' lone win in this series came in 1986, when they beat the Cougars in Tucson, 37-3. Houston beat Arizona in Houston in 2018 in the most recent meeting, 45-18.

Arizona vs. Iowa State: 4-1-1

You have to go back a while for the most recent meeting between the Wildcats and Cyclones. All the way back to Sept. 21, 1968 when Arizona beat Iowa State in Ames, 21-12.

Arizona vs. Kansas: 2-3-1

You have to go back even further for the last time Arizona played Kansas in football. On Sept. 24, 1966, the Jayhawks beat the Wildcats in Tucson, 35-13.

Arizona vs. Kansas State: 5-1-1

It's been a while since the Wildcats played the Wildcats in football, with Arizona and Kansas State last playing on Sept. 9. 1978, a 31-0 Arizona win in Tucson.

Arizona vs. Oklahoma State: 4-5

Arizona beat Oklahoma State in Tucson in 2012, 59-38 in the most recent matchup between the teams, who also met in the 2010 Alamo Bowl, a 36-10 win for Oklahoma State.

Arizona vs. TCU: 1-1

These teams have played two games against each other and they were both close. TCU beat Arizona in Tucson in 2003, 13-10. Arizona beat TCU in Fort Worth in 1999, 35-31.

Arizona vs. Texas Tech: 5-26-2

The Red Raiders have dominated the all-time series against Arizona, but the Wildcats won the most recent matchup in 2019, 28-14. The schools hadn't played before that since 1989. They first faces each other in 1932.

Arizona vs. Utah: 19-26-2

The Utes have won six straight games against the Wildcats, going back to 2016, with the most recent game being a 45-20 win for Utah in 2022.

Hard to believe, but the Wildcats have never faced Cincinnati, UCF or West Virginia in a football game. Look for that to change soon with Arizona's arrival into the Big 12 in 2024.
