Arizona State football to wear black uniforms for blackout Pac-12 college game vs. Utah

The Arizona State football team is encouraging fans to wear black for its Pac-12 opener against Utah on Saturday night at Sun Devil Stadium.

It's following suit with its uniform for the game against the Utes in Tempe.

ASU football will wear black uniforms with gold jersey numbers and names, logos and helmets in the game, which is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN.

The temperature in the game is expected to be over 90 degrees at kickoff on Saturday, and ASU Police recommend fans stay hydrated at the game.

They also recommend that you "blackout your clothes, not yourself!"

The game marks the first game without coach Herm Edwards for ASU. The coach was fired Sunday after Arizona State's 30-21 loss to Eastern Michigan last Saturday.

The Sun Devils fell to 1-2 with the loss. They had been a 19.5-point favorite over the Eagles entering the game.

Running backs coach Shaun Aguano was named the interim coach after Edwards' dismissal.

Arizona State is a 15.5-point underdog in the game.
