Arizona high school softball: AIA rankings as of March 29, 2024

The updated AIA high school softball rankings for 6A-1A were released on Friday. with some conferences showing parity among the top teams. Here are the top 10 teams in each conference as of Friday (records do not include tournament games).

6A

As the only undefeated team left in the 6A conference, it's no surprise that Basha is one of the best teams in the country. The team has scored 49 runs in their last three games, defeating Perry twice en route to sheer domination among the softball scene in Arizona. For Xavier Prep, senior Lauren Putz is batting .681 with 15 home runs this season, exemplifying her power as the team propelled to fourth in the rankings with a 9-2 record. Putz's 15 home runs, 39 RBIs, 46 runs and 1.780 slugging percentage lead all of 6A. Here's the top 10 teams in 6A as of March 29, 2024:

5A

Desert Mountain and Williams Field are the only two undefeated teams left standing in the 5A conference. The Wolves have shut out all but two of their opponents. Desert Mountain's Lilly Goodwin has a 0.17 ERA with 85 strikeouts, while Lexie Wilson of Chaparral is dominating out there on the mound with a 5A-leading 134 strikeouts. Avery Gehrke and McKinsey Beyer of Desert Mountain lead 5A with 24 and 21 steals. Here's the top 10 teams of 5A as of March 29, 2024:

Eastmark jumped out to a 11-0 start in result of the team's explosive offense. The team has outscored their opponents 140-12 en route to their dominance among 4A. Can they keep this momentum and finish the season undefeated? Their remaining opponents are AZ College Prep, ALA-QC (5-5), Poston Butte (8-3) and ALA- Gilbert North (1-9). But No. 2 Tucson Salpointe Catholic, the defending 4A champs, has won five titles since 2018. It's never a good idea to count out the Lancers.
