Arch Manning’s On3 ranking falls to No. 3 overall

Arch Manning is no longer On3 Sports’ No. 1 overall player for the 2023 recruiting class. His rank plummeted down to No. 3 overall.

As for what brought on the change of heart from On3, I’m not sure any new on-field data had any bearing on the ranking. The more time a site spends evaluating a prospect, the more likely they are to find a flaw. Certainly, sites will make sure they aren’t ranking a player too high based off name recognition.

With all of the above facts in mind, Texas still has one of the best prospects in the 2023 class. On3 calls Manning its No. 2 quarterback behind Tennessee’s Nico Iamaleava. The Long Beach (CA) product ranks as the new No. 1 overall player for 2023.

Coming in at No. 2 and one spot ahead of Manning is five-star Alabama edge Keon Keeley. Time will tell where each player ends up after their college careers, but Arch has the traits, football IQ, scheme and collection of mentors to become the next great quarterback in the family.
