The calendar is about to turn to September and while it means school starts and cooler temperatures, it also means the Philadelphia Phillies are in the hunt for another Red October.

However, the Phillies lead the wild card standings with a 5.5 game lead over the Arizona Diamondbacks, the first team out of the playoffs.

The magic number is the combination of Phillies wins or opponents' losses that will allow the Phillies to clinch a playoff spot.

According to playoffstatus.com, the Phillies magic number was 22 as of Aug. 30.

How many playoff home games will the Phillies have?

Where the Phillies are position as of Aug. 30, they would have the potential to host three National League Wild Card Games, two NL Division Series games, four NL Championship Series games and four World Series games at Citizens Bank Ballpark, according to mlb.com.

How to get Phillies playoff tickets

Tickets for the public generally become available in mid- to late-September after a team has clinched a playoff berth. However, if you have a full or partial season ticket plan you're going to need to act sooner – depending on your plan, payments start coming due on Sept. 18

Season ticket holders can either make a full payment for the tickets on Sept. 18 or do an installment plan with the first payment made Sept. 18. The remaining balance is due Oct. 6

Partial season ticket holders will have the ability to purchase tickets for four games – one Wild Card game, one NL Division Series game, one NL Championship Series game and one World Series game. Full payment for the four games must be made by Sept. 18.

How much do playoff and World Series tickets cost?

Ticket prices for full season ticket and partial season ticket holders have been announced.

For full season ticket holders, Wild Card and Division Series games range in cost from $60-$220; League Championship Series tickets range from $90-$280; and World Series tickets range from $170-$380.

For partial season ticket holders, Wild Card and Division Series tickets range from $50-$135; League Championship Series tickets range from $100-$225; and World Series tickets range from $150-$350.

How can I access playoff tickets?

Playoff tickets will be available exclusively through the MLB Ballpark app and a ticket holder's My Tickets account. Accounts will have access to their tickets beginning the last week of September for the Wild Card series. Future ticket access will be available prior to each subsequent postseason round.
