Another fast Phoenix start? What to watch for Game 1 Suns-Timberwolves NBA playoff series

MINNEAPOLIS – One thing to watch early in Game 1: Fast start.

The sixth-seeded Phoenix Suns have raced out to double-digit leads in the first quarter of each of their three wins in sweeping the regular season series over the third-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves.

Nov. 15, 2023: Led by as many as 14 points. Shot 63.2% in the first quarter (4-of-8 from 3). Won 133-115.

April 5, 2024: Led by as many as 17 points. Shot 55% in the first quarter (2-of-4 from 3). Won 97-87.

April 14, 2024: Led by as many as 22 points. Shot 66.7% in the first quarter (8-of-11 from 3). Won 125-106.

Will this trend continue? Game 1 Saturday at Target Center.
