Algonquin, Nashoba sweep Mid-Wach A, B indoor track championships

Boys' track

Mid-Wach A Championship: Miles Lipka won the 55-meter hurdles (7.95 seconds) and high jump (6 feet, 4 inches), Stephen White (mile, 4:36.24), Christopher Kardos (2 mile, 9:44.14) and Joseph Lamburn (1,000, 2:36.44) swept the distance events, and Max Eigen claimed the 55 dash (6.69) to help Algonquin take the team title with 130 points at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Lamburn and White also teamed with Jonah Gould and Matthew Zhang to lead the Titans to the 3,200 relay title (8:21.73).

Amani Mbugua won the 600 (1:26.1) to help Wachusett take second with 85 points, while Mbugua also teamed with Quinton Brien, Jacob Fassett and Dean Mills to help the Mountaineers win the 1,600 relay (3:36.9).

Westborough's Sebastian Grillo won the shot put (48-5) as the Rangers took third with 59-1/3 points. Shrewsbury's Matt Anderson won the 300 (2:36.07) as the Colonials (52) finished fourth, and Shepherd Hill (42-2/3) was fifth, having won the 800 relay (1:33.27).

Mid-Wach B Championship: Tyler Mignault (55, 6.88), Sawyer O'Riorden (55 hurdles, 8.5), Jacob Sutt (300, 37.0), Camden Bettez (600, 1:28.33) and Conner Acierno (mile, 4:37.2) won to help Nashoba (133 points) cruise to the team title at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Bettez also anchored the winning 3,200 relay team, teaming with Alexandro Velazquez, Max Regan and Samuel Duggy to finish in 9:25.94.

Groton-Dunstable's Zak Metzger won the 1,000 (2:46.63), and the Crusaders' foursome of Jacob Danti, Andrew Lyon, Ryan McEleney and Isaac Stallman won the 800 relay in 1:39.99 to help G-D (75½ points) take second.

North Middlesex (52) was third as Samuel Donovan won the 2 mile (10:19.6), Quinn Methe took the high jump (6-2) and Samuel Chaple, Collin Harrington, Jackson Bailey and Andrew Torpey combined to prevail in the 1,600 relay (3:59.09).

Marlborough's Parker Rogers won the shot put (51-10¾).

Girls' track

Mid-Wach A Championship: Olivia LaBelle won the 55 hurdles (8.79) and the 600 (1:42.57), Arianna Gentile took the 55 (7.52), Tanvi Mehta prevailed in the 1,000, (3:12.55) and Brigid Purcell claimed the mile (5:17.73) for champion Algonquin (123-2/3 points) at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Algonquin's Niamh O'Sullivan tied with Westborough's Regan Sullivan for first in the high jump (5-0), The Titans also won the 800 relay, as Mackenzie Clark, Niamh O'Sullivan, Kate DiTullio and Peyton Brown teamed to finish in 1:53.61.

Wachusett's Nyah Santana won the 300 (40.51), and Naomi Witt took the 2 mile (11:42.85) to help the Mountaineers take second with 103 points. Witt, Kailyn Brenn, Jayla Bertrand and Clara Robinson also won the 3,200 relay (10:47.53).

Shrewsbury's Hawa Fofana won the shot put (31-2), and Ellie Michalowski, Anya Pyro, Aashi Gupta and Margaret Garbarino took the 3,200 relay (4:16.66) to help the Colonials (75) take third.

Mid-Wach B Championship: Carolone Collins won the mile (5:10.01) and 2 mile (11:04.63), Val Michel took the 55 hurdles (9.11), Lailee Joyce prevailed in the 1,000 (3:15.45), and Hannah Benoit claimed the high jump (5-2) as Nashoba (123½) captured the team title at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Nashoba's Lucy Rein, Ella Kerr, Erin Farmer and Paulie Michel won the 1,600 relay (4:22.16), and Deirbhile Nagle, Meredith Straface, Joann Maldonado Jacome and Sierra Nesman took the 3,200 relay (11:54.59).

Groton-Dunstable (102) took second as Megan McElaney won the 600 (1:40.37) and Cassie Perchtl took the shot put (29-5¼).

Marlborough's Ava Van Buskirk won the 300 (41.7) and 55 (7.57), and Fitchburg took the 800 relay.
