Algonquin, Littleton sweep team titles at District E track championships

Boys' track

Division 1 District E Championships: Joseph Lamburn won the mile (4:28.35), Donald Dumont won the long jump (183-6) and Aidan Ruiz claimed the 2 mile (10:10.1) as Algonquin edged Wachusett for the team title, 106-100, at Shepherd Hill.

Wachusett's Dylan Brenn won the 800 (2:01.7) and Jackson Eisi won the 110 hurdles (15:32).

Westborough's win in the 3,200 relay (8:41.58) helped the Rangers finish third with 88 points and Worcester Tech, led by wins in the 100 from Wellington Freeman (11.27) and 200 by Michael Gyimah (22.25), as well as wins in the 400 relay (43.61) and 1,600 relay (3:36.49), was fourth with 73 points.

Marlborough's Parker Rogers was tops in the shot put (46-10.5) and the discus (174-3) and Nashoba's Sawyer O'Riorden captured the high jump (5-0) and the pole vault (13-6).

Tantasqua's Bryce Tessier won the 400 hurdles (57.51), Shepherd Hill's Anthony Graves won the 400 (52.6), Grafton's Calvary Jamoko won the triple jump (41-7) and Oakmont's Trevor Rusak took the javelin (171-6).

Division 2 District E Championships: Littleton claimed wins in five evens to take home the team title with 81 points at Ayer-Shirley.

Littleton's Bona Bradshaw (2 mile, 9:23.9), Mubeshire Bradshaw (pole vault, 13-6), Timothy Rank (mile, 4:38.91) and Brian Michaels (high jump, 6-2) all won individual events, while the Tigers also win the 3,200 relay (8:39.17).

Ayer-Shirley's Arthur Ribeiro won the 400 (50.48) and Tommy Bergin was tops in the javelin (152-0) to help the Panthers take second with 68 points.

Other winners included Bartlett's Eric Manilut (100, 11.3), Uxbridge's Cam Caso (200, school record time of 22.21), AMSA's Zachary Barton (110 hurdles, 15.94), Leicester's Cooper White (400 hurdles, 58.14), Bromfield's Jack Stahl (800, 2:01.25), Quaboag's Owen Stevens (long jump, 22-3.25), Hopedale's Ari Levine (shot put, 50-7.75), Valley Tech's Kenny Kalvinek (discus, 158-4) and Whitinsville Christian's Enson Enoch (triple jump, 42-11.75).

Douglas also won the 400 relay (44.94) while Lunenburg won the 1,600 relay (3:32.52).

Girls' track

Division 1 District E Championships: Olivia LaBella won the 100 hurdles (15:35) and the 400 hurdles (1:03.45) and Tanvi Mehta captured the 800 (2:23.57) to help Algonquin win the team title with 136.25 points at Shepherd Hill.

Wachusett placed second with 124 points, as the Mountaineers were led by Naomi Witt winning the mile (5:15.17) and the 2 mile (11:49.99), Rahma Giwa winning the 400 (58.22), Nyah Santana taking the 200 (25.28) and a win in the 3,200 relay (10:15.13).

Hudson's Savannah Gao won the discus (104-9) and the javelin (127-11) to help the Hawks finish third with 71 points.

Tantasqua's Hailey McCormack won the triple jump (35-2.5) and the high jump (5-4), while teammate Keoni Savoie won the 100 (12.59). North Middlesex's Sam DiFonte won the long jump (17-0.25), Westborough's Katelyn Winchester won the pole vault (10-0) and Auburn's Isabel Zukowski won the shot put (30-9). Nashoba won the 400 relay (51.79) and Shrewsbury took the 1,600 relay (4:12.14).

Division 2 District E Championships: Norah Kobaly won the discus (98-8) and the javelin (130-6) and Erin Regan was second in the mile to help Littleton take the team title with 95 points at Ayer-Shirley.

Lunenburg's Carli Stanford was second in the 100 and fourth in the 200 to lead the Blue Knights to second with 89.5 points, while Ayer-Shirley used a win in the 1,600 relay (4:10.7) to take third with 84 points.

Uxbridge's Kate Cahill was named the Athlete of the Meet for the third straight season when she won the triple jump (36-9) and the 100 hurdles (15:85) and finished second in the long jump. Teammate Kendall Gilmore broke a pair of school records with her wins in the 200 (25:49) and the 400 (57.2).

Whitinsville Christian's Avery Glidden won the 400 hurdles (1:03.22) and Emma Wierenga won the 800 (2:21.96), while Oxford's Cameron Davis won the mile (5:19.67) and the 2 mile (11:09.69), Narragansett's Ashlyn Duplessis won the high jump (5-2) and St. Paul got wins from Chrissy Maduakor (long jump, 17-8) and Azahra Swiga (shot put, 35-0.75).

Ayer-Shirley took a pair of relay wins, as the Panthers were tops in the 400 relay (51.79) and the 1,600 relay (4:10.7), while Whitinsville Christian won the 3,200 relay (10:13.23).
